RAWD suggested that a showcase event would be the best way to promote myself as a creative artist, showing my newly learnt skills in writing and directing. My showcase was part of a directing double-bill (with another artist, Sam Hooper) held at FACT, Liverpool and gave me a fantastic opportunity to network.

With the Arts Council sponsored project, I wanted to create something positive, authentic and inspiring. I hope that I achieved this, and showcased my abilities well in the work we displayed in the showcase, which included showing the music video "Everybody's BITCHIN' about Al" for the first time. I’m proud of everything I’ve achieved over the course of the project.

At the showcase we included pre-recorded/behind the scenes footage, summarising the amount of work that went into the whole project. Also, I gave a live speech, which provided further insight on my current situation and future as a creative artist, as well as the making of and further development ideas for the directing toolkit (developed and created through a collaboration with RAWD). The 50+ audience really enjoyed the event and seemed to love the music video - some of the audience even shred a tear while watching it!
